"I feel every generation has to leave something for those coming up. When I was growing up there were schools, there were hospitals, there were halls. I didn't build them, they were just there and so I feel that we as a generation have to leave something for the generations that are to come."

Cary Piller
Melville Resident

Fundraising

The Communiplex Project has been percolating in the minds of Melville's citizens since the mid-1980s, but the cost has always been an impediment. More than $20 million in funding has been delivered from the provincial and federal governments and nearly $1 million more has been raised through local donations and fundraisers. The federal and provincial governments, along with the people of Melville have demonstrated their commitment to this project, and with that commitment the Communiplex Project is going forward.

Currently, more than $200,000 has been raised through the 1,000 for $1,000 campaign which is driving to collect $1,000 from 1,000 different individuals. Generous donations have come from Melville and area residents in every size and each contribution brings the Communiplex closer to completion. Gifts of any amount are welcome, and aside from the satisfaction of giving, donors will receive a charitable tax credit. Now is the time to get behind this project and push it across the finish line.
