"There's nothing quite like playing for a hometown crowd. It's one thing to have people cheering you on, but it's a whole other feeling when you know all those people personally. Obviously, playing in Detroit and Winnipeg were incredible experiences. It was a real honour to get to the NHL and to be able to play at that level. But for me, it all started in Melville. I was born here, right from learning to skate my development happened here. It was all due to the people in Melville who volunteered their time to coach and work for minor hockey. If it wasn't for them, my great experience probably wouldn't of happened."
